Writerpreneur: The Only Two Ways to Write A Story

John Gallishaw discovered and named the use of the Scene as a building block for authors. Borrowing from the tradition of the theater play, Gallishaw defines these story units as having their own three-act structure while they build the larger story bit by bit.

This beginning selection was recommended by Walter S. Cambell in his "Proessional Writing" text and successfully taught students through WWII and into the Golden Age of Magazine Fiction.

Like Gallishaw, Campbell was interested in speeding the student's training into professional quality work that sold in the marketplace.

Today, a lot of the foundational work in creating scenes has been lost. Campbell's texts are themselves out of print, surviving only through successor Dwight V. Swain's works.

This short selection is part of the WriterpreneurOS Library, for use by modern students as we recover and revamp these classics for contemporary use.
