Oh, if changes were so easy...

The trick is in the learning curve.

Every new program or service I recently bought into has their own set of courses and how-to's to master. So I have those to add in as well.

Of course, there's also moving everything over. Mailing lists, for instance. And landing pages. And even moving offers from one back end to another.

Again, I have to remind myself of the reason I'm doing all this - to provide you with more of what you want, the way you want it. So far, it's working. You've told me more about what you want than ever before. So this means I can double down on what you want and let you help yourself, me, and the other several hundred subscribers at the same time.

Like what I announced last week:

A Special and Limited Offer.

OK, this is still crazy. I'm still putting together the materials for training a writer to make an additional income stream from publishing their book.

And this time, I am asking for help from a self-selected few people to weed thorugh the piles and heaps of material just to select the specific essays, books, and materials that will help a writer do just that. To make themselves an extra income stream by learning 1) How to write the most engaging book, either fiction or non-fiction, and 2) Get it published and distributed the most effective way, plus 3) Develop a business that will promote and market that book (or series of books - or courses) so that your income is under your own control.

There are so many of you who have a non-fiction or fiction book inside them that would really like to take some action on moving it forward.

And I've been uncovering classics texts by proven authors, such as Walter S. Campbell, Dorothea Brande, and a half-dozen others who have written about writing - and try to reconstruct the course that Campbell use to run.

A partial outline:

a) Goals and expectancies - how to set high goals and get them achieved, which work actually tends to tell the world out there how to get in line the way you want it. And then produce it. That simple.

b) How to write effective prose - fiction or non-fiction. What are the key elements readers want in their books, what keeps them coming back for more?

c) Simple habits of writing that produce publishable words with the least unnecessary effort.

d) A regular system of publishing which gets your book out on the maximal number of distributors. What goes into the blurb, title, and other meta-data so that people can simply find your book to buy it.

e) The backend systems that make writing and publishing profitable, but ensure you spend the bulk of your time on writing and reading so you can write more efficiently and effectively.

f) And being your editor to help you apply these materials to your writing, then come back and publish those books that are keeping you up at night with their details, twists, and surprise cliffhangers...

In short, to make you an accomplished author with books that sell regularly.

So - what's the deal?

I act as your editor for, say, six months and help you work through all the barriers and problems you have with writing at all. And get you to publish whatever you want during that time.

One hour a day, every day. Either reading or writing or both.

You'll have weekly reading and writing assignments. Because the only real way to become a writer is to read a lot and write a lot.

And we are going to tear apart bestseller classics and then rehash, revamp, and rewrite these in order to learn how and why they still sell and still get downloaded today. You're going to also form the basics of a business so you can then start to profitably run your own publishing lines to make that rumored extra income stream above.

I may even set up a private discussion server so we can talk over stuff, and have a record of what works and what doesn't.

Oh - and all for the princely sum of $1. And - as a bonus - those who stick with it will get an extra bonus 6 months thrown in! (See - I said it was crazy.) Reason for the buck? Skin in the game. It's probably worth thousands. Just the impossible-to-find books are invaluable. But I figure that will drive away the freebie seekers who never open emails, and so on.

Now - I'm only going to accept 10 6 more people. Just to make sure I have people who are crazy enough to devote an hour or so daily for the next six months in order to get their writing chops up to the point where they can self-publish a book or send a story off to magazines and get it in print

Again, here's the final straw: Reply to this email and tell me your at least mildly interested. If I get crickets, then I know your opinion of this subject.

But This is filling up fast. You won't want to wait for 6 months or another year for this to possibly come open again. Once in a lifetime. Ground-floor training. FOMO and all that...

Farm News

New Calves - still that time of the year...

All darling. Still sixteen total now, here's number nine:

Yet another of our black white-faced heifers. Looks like she has a black eye spot on this side. Some white under her shoulders. Definitely a challenge for your namerators.

Mother is "99", also known as Big Toe, because one of her front hooves is mostly white (when it's not covered in mud.) All black otherwise.

If your namerator has a great inspired idea for this baby girl, just let me know...

Tiny Home Progress

4th of July. Family visits. Neighbors with loud explosives. Tired.

(Sigh.)

Other Farm News

Not enough rain since late Spring. Hay is in short supply already. We got ours in early. But will be probably feeding more than last year. We like to keep a year's worth on hand just for instances like this. Been there before. Learned that then. Not again.
